A Note from the Commander in Chief

Have you ever walked into a workout class at a new studio and immediately wanted to walk out? I HAVE…more than once, which is why ElectionCycle was born. My goal in starting ElectionCycle was to create a place that you can leave with the sweaty, satisfying feeling of a great spin workout, but without the judgment and unfamiliarity that make you not want to go back. In addition to a great workout, I wanted to create a community. A community that welcomes with open arms all who wish to be a part of it regardless of skill or experience. In a city that can be so divided ElectionCycle is a place to come together, grow strong, and feel confident about you. So to all of you ladies, gentleman, short or tall, elephants or donkeys, come join the ECDC party!

– XOXO, Candice

  Abby @abileeverafter

Abby @abileeverafter

Abby is a northern Virginia native who moved to D.C. four years ago. A friend dragged her to her first spin class three years ago. As a former dancer, singer, and gymnast, she was quickly hooked on a workout that combined her love of music with getting a good sweat on (who doesn’t love that?!). When she’s not on a bike, you’ll find her running around Washington with her reporter’s notebook in hand. Work hard, play hard is her motto...so come do both in her class!

  Audrey @AudreyLamb

Audrey @AudreyLamb

Audrey loves sweating, screaming and dancing in a dark room on stationary bikes. She has been leading cycle classes in DC for over 10 years. A certified holistic health coach, her classes emphasize the mind/body connection and just how good you'll feel after you walk out of her class. Audrey is a Boston transplant who appreciates flashy Athleisure wear, a good pinot noir, and anything with frosting.

  Bethany @y0_be

Bethany @y0_be

Extremely intimidated by the spin classes she’d seen on Instagram and YouTube, Bethany reluctantly accompanied her sister to her first class after relocating to North Carolina for grad school. She hated it and hurt in places she didn’t know she could but, not to be defeated, returned to try it again. And again. And again. She was hooked. A former dancer and music lover, Bethany fell in love with the rhythm-driven, beat heavy classes and couldn’t get enough. If she’s not on the bike, you will probably find Bethany somewhere eating cheese and looking for a new show to watch. Bethany's mantra for riders is, “You are stronger than you think.” Come test your limits while you party on the bike with B!

  Danielle

Danielle

Originally from Tennessee, Danielle is a longtime D.C. resident (and double Hoya) who discovered indoor cycling while working as an associate at a large law firm and loved the break classes provided after a long day.  She has tried just about every fitness class in D.C. but found indoor cycling to be the perfect workout and creative outlet combining intense cardio, great music, and positive energy.  She hopes to inspire and motivate riders of all levels to push their limits, while also having fun!  Off the bike, you can find Danielle working as a litigator for the federal government and exploring DC’s restaurants and attractions.

  Gabie @gabiesiroonian

Gabie @gabiesiroonian

This beach-bum turned city yopro has made DC her home for the last 4 years. Originally from Cape Cod, Gabie moved to DC to study international relations and gender studies at American University. Gabie fell in love with spin, always feeling empowered to set her own pace and challenge herself on the bike.  When Gabie’s isn’t sweating it out, you can find her crushing it in her glow kickball league, attending country music concerts, or swiping all the free-sample farmers market pickles.

  Hannah @bananadelaplaya

Hannah @bananadelaplaya

Originally from Annapolis, MD, Hannah moved to the nation’s capital in 2017 to start her graduate career in Psychology. She’s been an avid spin class attendee for the last 5 years, instructing for the past 3, and just returned from a cross country bike ride with the Ulman Cancer Fund this past summer! She’s a fiery spirit that loves cows, the Rubik’s cube, riddles, picking up litter, magic tricks, and (obviously) working up a sweat so come on in and join her.

  Jack @jegizi3

Jack @jegizi3

Jack attended his first cycling class three years ago, and was instantly hooked on the music, challenge and over all vibe of the studio. Originally from Massachusetts, Jack moved to the District to attend CUA, and stayed in town after graduating, to pursue a career in sales. His workouts include running, lifting and last but certainly not least; cycling. Outside of work Jack loves to try all of DC's new spots with his friends, whether it be a bar, restaurant or coffee shop

  Lauren @LO_self

Lauren @LO_self

Lauren is a Maryland native who, after 8 years away, settled in DC for good. She started spinning while in law school and quickly learned to love the physical and mental benefits of bike endorphins. Having always liked to be a boss, she started teaching two years ago and now brings her love of speed drills and throwback jams to every class.

  Liz @Liz.e.gallagher

Liz @Liz.e.gallagher

Originally from upstate New York, Liz moved to D.C. 5 years ago to study at American University. She fell in love with spinning after needing to find an activity that complimented her many years spent rowing and running. Liz’s positive, straight-up and energetic personality fosters a lively and stress free class that will have everyone leaving the studio sweaty and smiling. When she’s not at ElectionCycle, you can find Liz working with women who are running in the 2018 election cycle, staying #onbrand.

  Sarah @sarsly_what

Sarah @sarsly_what

Sarah started coming to classes at Election Cycle shortly after its opening this year and was instantly hooked on ECDC. She knew she had to join the ECDC family! Sarah loves a solid, sweaty workout combined with good music. Originally from this area, Sarah attended Ohio University and returned to DC after college. Aside from spin, Sarah is passionate about animals and medicine and is a veterinary technician here in DC. When Sarah isn’t at the vet clinic or Election Cycle, you can find her beboppin around H st with friends and fellow Election Cycle instructors.
